The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art is pleased to host a lecture by Tulku Jamyang Rinpoche on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Tulku Jamyang was born in the Himalayas in 1977 to a Buddhist family. At the age of 2 he was recognized as a reincarnated lama by Ven. Diphuk Rinpoche and further confirmed by the great Tibetan masters, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and His Holiness Aachub Rinpoche. Tulku Jamyang spent many years in India studying the philosophy of Buddhism and he studied in Tibet where he received advanced courses in meditation. He is known for his unique ability to communicate with an informal and straightforward approach and uses humorous examples from his own experiences in his teachings.

Tulku Jamyang is the author of No Time for Complex Buddhism and his lecture at the Museum will focus on the basic understanding of Buddhism. The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art was established in 1945 to promote a greater understanding of Tibetan Art and Culture. It is accessible by a 30 minute bus ride on the S74 bus from the SI Ferry terminal. Car service from the ferry is also available for approximately $15 - $20. Public programs at the Museum are supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
