General Information
Artist Description:

Technicolor Lenses combines original heart-felt hip-hop, electronic/dub-step, psychedelic rock, jam, funk, as well as spoken word that provides conscious social commentary on life and existence.

Their live performance has the high energy of a hip hop or electronic set with a unique instrumental element- Both peacefully and energetically explosive in the aim to raise awareness and create moments of true and soulful expression.

Beginning with the musical collaboration of two solo artists in the summer of 2010, Jackson T. Whalan (The Aposoul), and Sam Eckstein launched Technicolor Lenses. The Big Up 2010 marks their first live performance as a duo and they have since created great momentum in New York City, where they are currently based. Through joining forces they have been consistently gigging, whether it be opening for hip hop artists such Black Sheep and Marley Marl, playing at clubs such as the Delancey and Webster Hall, or organizing their own events in Brooklyn.

Mission
Mission:

The mission of Technicolor Lenses is to foster the experience of creativity through music, while exposing a diverse array of subject matter through the art of rhyme. Technicolor Lenses represents the reality of the many perspectives and ways of seeing that exist in the world. Through live performance we aim to share and engage with conscious communities. Our vision points to creating extraordinary possibility within the human experience.

“Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus.”-Ralph Waldo Emerson.
